BEFORE YOU APPLY
A FEW THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE REQUESTING MEMBERSHIP.
01. DON'T LIE ABOUT WHO YOU ARE.
The application is not a job, you are not being tested. It is designed to see how you may fit with us, but just because you may consider yourself difficult, that does not mean we will reject you. Any information you provide about your past will be kept privately between the community managers, who only see it to discuss how to best accomodate you. We understand that many residents arrive carrying difficult histories, whether from their home planets, Sgrub sessions and/or traumatic deaths. We want to know who YOU are, even if you believe it is undesirable. Yes, we have reformed hemoists, murderers and violents here and we are proud to give them the first home they have experienced where they do not have to rage for the machine that tells them they have to be that way.
We are not in the business of shaming people for their past. If you are making an active change, then we will support you through it. No one should be left to wander in the afterlife for eons alone.
While hostile, aggressive, or intimidating behaviour is not welcome here, we understand that unlearning the ideals of the hemospectrum can take time. If you’re willing to question those beliefs and work towards leaving them behind, we’re willing to work with you.
Many of us have our own histories with hemospectrum-based societies and understand how difficult it can be to unlearn what you’ve been taught. What matters is that you’re willing to grow and build something better here.
02. RESPECT RESIDENT PRIVACY.
Not everyone is prepared to discuss their death, former life, relationships, alternate selves, or the circumstances that brought them here. Do not interrogate residents for personal information simply because you are curious. If someone does not wish to discuss something, respect their decision.
03. ASK BEFORE ENTERING OR USING SOMEONE'S SPACE.
A room, workshop, garden plot, storage area, or personal belongings are not communal simply because they exist within the settlement. Shared spaces are for everyone; private spaces remain private unless their occupant has invited you inside. Respiteblocks are often shared between two-four people in the same age range, with individual recuperacoons cornered off for privacy. Trolls can sleep without slime, but many choose to use it out of familiarity, there will be a selection of other slabs available should you want something different, including human beds.
New guests here get their own individual room during the trial period, however, if you decide to stay here and cannot see yourself sharing a respiteblock due to anxiety, noise sensitivity or for general comfort, let us know in the application so we can prepare that in advance.
.
04. DO NOT REMOVE COMMUNITY PROPERTY.
Furniture, tools, books, cooking equipment, artwork, records, and other communal objects should remain where they have been placed unless you have permission to move them. If you borrow something, return it. If you break something, report it rather than quietly hoping nobody notices.
05. LEAVE HISTORICAL MATERIALS WHERE YOU FIND THEM.
The cavern contains objects belonging to both its ancient inhabitants and its current residents. Do not remove, alter, or relocate carvings, artifacts, offerings, records, or other historical materials without authorisation. Something that appears abandoned may still have cultural, historical, or personal significance.
06. KEEP COMMUNAL AREAS USABLE.
Clean up after yourself, return shared equipment, and do not permanently occupy communal spaces with personal belongings. If you have made a mess large enough that another resident needs to step over it, it is probably time to clean it up.
07. RESPECT QUIET HOURS.
Not everyone keeps the same schedule or has the same tolerance for noise. Loud music, shouting, construction, arguments, and other disruptive activities should be kept to appropriate areas and hours. If someone asks you to lower the volume because they are trying to sleep, please respect the request.
08. COMMUNAL RESOURCES ARE TO BE SHARED.
Food, water, gardening supplies, medical necessities, and other communal provisions should not be hoarded. Take what you need and leave enough for the next person. If supplies are running low, tell someone before they disappear entirely.
09. ALTERNATES ARE NOT PROPERTY.
No resident is entitled to another version of somone just because they have arrived in the same bubble. Alternates are separate individuals with their own histories, relationships, boundaries, and identities. While dating is allowed here, do not treat someone as a replacement for a person you lost.
10. DO NOT USE POWERS AGAINST RESIDENTS WITHOUT CONSENT.
Psionic abilities, mind manipulation, ascended powers, weapons and other powers capable of affecting another person's body or mind require consent, except where immediate intervention is necessary to prevent serious harm and even then, violence should be a last resort. Not the first.
11. DISPUTES SHOULD NOT BECOME COMMUNITY SPECTACLES.
Arguments happen, but do not drag the entire commune into your conflict or use public boards, radio broadcasts, gatherings, or the BubbleHub to harass another resident. If a disagreement cannot be resolved between those involved, the community manager and leader can intervene.
12. DO NOT HARASS PEOPLE THROUGH THE BUBBLEHUB.
The Hub exists to keep residents connected, not to provide a way to follow someone around after they have asked you to stop. Repeated unwanted messages, impersonation, threats, harassment, or targeted abuse may result in removal from the website, and if that behaviour strill persists, the commune.
13. GIVE NEW ARRIVALS ROOM TO ADJUST.
Arriving here can be disorienting. Offer directions, explain communal customs, and answer reasonable questions, but do not overwhelm newcomers with interrogation or expect them to immediately understand every convention of the settlement.
14. PARTICIPATION IS ENCOURAGED, NOT PERFORMED.
Residents are encouraged to contribute in whatever manner suits their abilities. Cooking, gardening, maintaining the tunnels, teaching, organising activities, archiving, repairing equipment, scouting or just being available to talk are all valuable contributions. You do not need an impressive title or specialised skill to have a place here.
15. REPORT PROBLEMS BEFORE THEY BECOME CRISES.
If you discover structural damage, an unstable tunnel, missing supplies, dangerous wildlife, unusual activity, or anything else that could endanger residents, tell someone. You will not be reprimanded for discovering a problem; you may, however, be asked why you discovered a massive crack in the cavern wall and decided to kick it.
16. YOU ARE ALLOWED TO LEAVE.
The commune is a place to live, not a prison. Residents may travel through other dream bubbles or decide that another settlement suits them better. You are welcome to return, provided you remain respectful of the community and its residents.
IF YOU ARE BEING HARMED OR FEEL UNSAFE, THERE ARE COMMUNITY MANAGERS AND COUNSELORS HERE WHO WILL TAKE YOU SERIOUSLY. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO HANDLE IT ALONE.
